Mimetic architecture is a style of building design that is built as a ‘novelty’. It became popular in the United States during the first half of the 20th Century. The below are couple of mimetic architecture designs of the 1920s.

The government buildings in India are generally unremarkable and nondescript, but not the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) in Hyderabad, India. Completed in 2012, the building resembles a giant fish. Of course the work done inside has everything to do with fisheries. It is one of the boldest examples of Mimetic Architecture in India.
