While news channels are rife about hostilities that exist among nations, people who don’t have anything to do with politics don’t think twice about helping each other. This is true even when it comes to the fishing industry.

A Peruvian crew on board the “Chapi 2” vessel got lost at sea and sent distress calls to fishing/shipping vessels nearby. A Chinese fishing company’s vessel heard the distress call and rushed to save the crew. Zhou Yu Number 8 trawler is owned by the subsidiary of China National Fisheries Co. (CNFC).

The Ocean and Fisheries Bureau commended the effort and has made reference to the contribution of Chinese Vessels to maritime safety.
